Who Needs Sleep
Today’s moral dilemma comes courtesy of my neighbors, Bob and Lisa.
Since I moved into my new apartment, Bob and Lisa have been pretty great neighbors. They keep the volume on their TV and stereo down, they don’t leave garbage bags outside their door, and they had me over for dinner a few times when I first moved in. And let’s just say, Bob is an amazing cook.
Here’s the thing… they just got a dog.
As long as they don’t lick or jump all over me, I like dogs. My family has a couple of golden Labs who are content to lay in the sun and play catch every now and then, but only when you in the mood to play with them.
These are my kind of dogs.
Now, when I say my neighbors got a dog, I don’t mean they got a puppy. I mean they got a fully-grown dog with a fully-formed personality and routine of behavior that obviously doesn’t include apartment living. What do I mean by that? I mean this thing barks. Incessantly. All night long.
Now, here’s my moral dilemma.
Our apartment allows dogs, but not larger breeds and I don’t know what kind of dog this thing is (it’s a mix of some sort) but I know it’s bigger than they’re really allowed to have in there. I also know that I haven’t had a good night sleep in the last few days because of this hound from Hell.
Even though Bob and Lisa have been totally good neighbors, do I still go to the front office and rat them out? I’m leaning toward yes.
